Staging Your Next Photoshoot

When a company is selling their product or property, they put their trust in the photographer to make it look the best it can be. As a photographer, it is important to recognize that and be able to properly design and stage everything in order to make a great sell.

Use these tips to help improve your staging techniques!

Focus on the Texture

When it comes to photographing a property, details are important. Textures can add a lot of definition to a space. For example, making sure to plump bedding and pillows can make a room like homey and comfortable. Showing off unique furniture or hanging up beautiful art pieces on the walls can also give the property an extra boost. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

Color Scheme is Key

How a property looks has a lot to do with the colors within it. A key technique is to include white linens in order to promote a fresh and soothing environment. Neutral walls and floors allows furniture and decorations to stand out. Adding a hint of color through these aspects will create a subtle, but exquisite look.

Remember the Lights

Picking the right lighting is crucial when photographing any property. When staging a room, it might benefit you to add dimmers to give you more variety and options for your photographs.

Find Your Focus

Once everything is set and staged, it is important to find a focus point of your photo. What part of the room would you like to frame? You should choose the ideal location that will allow potential buyers to feel themselves in the actual environment. For example, centering the living room furniture around the coffee table creates an open space in which people can find themselves lounging in.
