Listening to Your Clients Improves Your Business

When working on a project, it is very easy to get invested in your own ideas. However, photographers must remember that the client always comes first.

 

More often than not, when a photographer is hired the client has a vision of how they want their photos to come out. However, who knows better than the professional doing the work, right? Wrong. A good photographer knows when to put his own input aside and listen to their opinion. Taking the time to see what your client is looking for and how they want to showcase their product and location is what keeps them coming back.

 

Here are some benefits that come from heeding to your clients wants:

 

   1. You Build a Relationship with Your Client

When a customer comes to you with their business, they expect you to display their product or location in the best way possible. Therefore, when they have a specific vision for how they want something to be photographed, it is important that you take that into consideration. When you do so, they will appreciate you for trying to fit their vision into the photographs. They will trust you when it comes to doing their future work and become loyal clients.

   2. You Avoid Big Mistakes

When you listen to a customer’s concerns and wants during a shoot, you avoid messing up and having to redo a shot. It saves you and the customer time and puts you in better standing with the business. Redoing shots is inevitable, as customers tend to be picky when choosing pictures for their business. However, try and prevent the need by listening to the client's needs before shooting.

   3. You Receive Feedback and Reviews

Working alongside the client, they get a personal experience of working with you. Afterward, it is important to get feedback- good and bad!! As a photographer, it is important to learn from each shoot of what you could have done better and what you should continue doing. It is also beneficial if you ask your client to write a review for you on any of the social media websites that you are marketing yourself on. Having reviews are very crucial for future clients to have an understanding of the kind of photographer you are.  

   4. You Gain New Customers

Ultimately, when a client trusts you to do their photographs they tell all their friends. By word of mouth and social media, customers are very likely to talk about your good company when they are pleased with your cooperation throughout the shoot. Listening to a customer’s concerns and thoughts and working side by side with them when shooting, not only makes them more secure in your work but increases your sales instantly.
